Sometime back, Sony itself admitted that Apple is the king of the market when it comes to the MP3 players, but deep down somewhere Sony isn’t really happy about losing. For this purpose they are working cats and dogs in order to take over the market from Apple.
In its latest attempt to attract all the music freaks towards itself (especially the ones who like iPod Touch), Sony is planning to launch the X-Series Walkman, which is in fact very stylish and attractive to look at. The X-Series is the first Walkman that has a very bright and clear OLED display. The size of the OLED display is 3 inches and is sensitive to touch, just like iPod Touch. And to add to that, the battery life of this walkman is expected to be great, as a lot of thinking has been done on improving it.
The sound quality of the X-Series walkman has improved remarkably, so that it can take on its competitors. The new walkman has something for both kinds of listeners, i.e. the ones who prefer hi-fi products and others who use their headphones. Sony is ensuring that the audio of the new walkman would be very rich and would have a wide bandwidth with very low distortion. Also the enhanced stereo type music would be something that can impress the music freaks.
And to add to all the above features, there is digital noise cancellation for those who travel a lot. Currently, Sony is working on three different settings to cut out noise in buses, trains and in office. The wireless technology is also expected to please the listeners as it would enable them to browse internet and watch videos on video streaming sites like YouTube and Metacafe.
The latest X-series is expected to hit the market with its two models, which would vary in its disk storage size with 8GB and 16GB. The prices are expected to be very close to the ones of iPod touch.
