Dell has announced that they will be introducing a new removable storage device, the PowerVault RD1000. This small, yet incredibly efficient device can store data 10 times faster, and is only half the cost of equivalent tape storage.

The PowerVault RD1000 has both backup and restore functionality. With a simple plug-and-play USB connection, it allows the backup of more then one system, and can be used on the go.

The Design:

The tough and compact design functions lying flat or on its edge, and takes up very little space. The removable disk cartridge is designed for durability, and easily fits just about anywhere. It is also built to withstand a fall from nearly one meter, incase of any accident that might occur.
